STATE REQUIREMENTS QUESTIONS

APPRAISAL What are the Continuing Education requirements?

All active appraisers must complete 14 hours of Board-approved continuing education during each annual renewal period. In every two consecutive renewal periods, every appraiser must complete an AQB approved 7-hour USPAP Update Course (the 15-hour USPAP Course does not count as a substitute). A renewal period begins one year prior to the current renewal due date which is the last day of your birth month.
There is NO Grace Period if your due date falls on a weekend or holiday.

REAL ESTATE

A total of 24 hours of real estate continuing education is required for each four-year renewal period. All active licensees (with license number above 100,000) must complete at least 24 hours of approved continuing education coursework during each four year renewal period. Any licensee who seeks to activate a license which has been on inactive status for two (2) years or longer shall be required to attend a Commission-approved course or courses of study totalling at least six (6) hours for each year the license was on inactive status.

Are there any specific courses required?

APPRAISAL

Yes, the 7-hour USPAP Update Course is required every other year.

REAL ESTATE

If you hold a Salesperson’s license and this renewal is your first one since the original licensure, you were required to complete a 25 hour Commission approved Post license course during your first year of licensure. This course will count for 6 hours of continuing education for your renewal. You must complete an additional 18 hours of continuing education during this renewal period.

COURSE AND REGISTRATION QUESTIONS

Are the courses approved for credit?

Yes, all of our courses are approved for credit.

What is the cost of the course(s) and what methods of payment are accepted?

The cost of each course is located in the course catalog. You may pay using all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express).

What is your refund policy?

ONLINE CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Please contact Georgia MLS Training Institute at 770-493-9000 if you have a question.

How do I get a username and password? What do I use it for? What should I do if I forget it?
During the registration process, you select your own username and password. It should be something that you can easily remember. You will use the same username and password each time you log in to access your course(s). This information is entered in the “Returning Students” section on the home page of the website. If you forget your username and password, you can either email support@fastclass.com or call 1-866-455-3278.

Can I take the course from various locations and computers?

Our courses are set up for students to access their courses from any computer that is compatible.

How does a course work?

You take the course at your own pace and on your own time. You can take the course in small increments or all at once. If you exit out of the course and then log back in at a later time, you start back on the page where you left off.

How long will it take me to complete a course?

Each course has been approved for a specific number of hours. Depending on the pace you review the course; it may take you less or more time to complete the course.

How long do I have access to the course?

You have access to the course for up to six months from the date of purchase. Your course must be completed within 180 days from the date of purchase. However, if you need an extension please contact Georgia MLS Training Institute at 770-493-9000.

Can I use the course for review when I'm done?

Your course is available for review for 180 days from the date of purchase.

Can I print any of the course material for future reference?

No. The course is entirely online, so you are unable to print any course materials.

Who do I contact if I have questions about the courses?

APPRAISAL

Should you have any questions or difficulty regarding the course content, the course instructor, Wade Gaddy, will be glad to assist you. He can be reached at (770) 631-1000 between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

REAL ESTATE

Should you have questions regarding the content of a real estate course, the Director of Education, Bob Hart (770) 493-9000, will be glad to assist you. He can be reached during business hours: 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday excluding holidays.

COURSE COMPLETION QUESTIONS

What is required to complete the course?

APPRAISAL AND REAL ESTATE

You are not required to pass a final exam. Review and complete the online course content. Upon completion of the course and after the Student Survey, a “Student Affidavit” will display on your screen. In order to receive credit for the course, Georgia MLS Training Institute must be able to verify that you acknowledged the “Student Affidavit” that appears on the last page of the course.

How do I receive my course completion certificate?

You will not receive a completion certificate.

How do my hours get submitted for CE credit?

APPRAISAL AND REAL ESTATE

Georgia MLS Training Institute will electronically submit your continuing education credit to the Georgia Real Estate Commission and Appraisers Board within two business days from the date it was received. You will not receive a certificate. Contact the GREAB to verify receipt of your hours by calling 404-656-3916 between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, or visit their website at www.grec.state.ga.us.
